Job Description - Maintenance Manager

About the Client:

Join a key player in the meat processing industry, committed to excellence in every aspect of their operations. My client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the Maintenance function for their Meat Processing division at their Wakefield SA site.

Role Overview:

As the Maintenance Manager , you will play a crucial role in maintaining operational assets, minimising costs, and ensuring the efficient functioning of their Meat Processing division. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead a skilled Maintenance team to uphold the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain operational assets in good working order, striving for cost efficiency.
Negotiate with equipment and service suppliers to minimise costs.
Provide sound technical advice and direction to staff, fostering a skilled and effective Maintenance team.
Advise on replacement or upgrade needs of ageing plant and equipment.
Assist in preparing maintenance budgets and work within budget limitations.
Manage the recruitment process for new employees, including on-site training.
Maintain the plant and equipment database and service schedules.
Liaise regularly with all Meat Processing Managers to ensure seamless coordination.
Contribute to key business activities, regularly reviewing and meeting annual objectives.
Requirements:

Relevant trade qualifications.
Extensive knowledge of general maintenance requirements in continuous food processing.
Strong experience in managing large-scale, cost-effective maintenance programs.
Demonstrated ability to manage, train, and delegate responsibilities.
High-level communication skills, initiative, and strong attention to detail.
Effective time management skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to positively influence the behaviour of others.
Intermediate computer skills.
