Specialty commenced writing business in Australia in 2008, and the business offering is divided into two areas: Delegated Authority and Open Market Single Risks. The Single Risk Business focuses on General Aviation, Financial Lines business, namely Directors & Officers and Miscellaneous Professional Indemnity, Crisis Management/Product Contamination and Recall as well as Contingency products. Delegated Authority business supports Underwriting Agencies and Brokers that have a niche insurance offering, who value long-term partnerships, and who ideally have their own infrastructure to service their business needs.

Job Purpose:

As an Operational Resilience Risk Manager, you will further enhance our Information & Cyber Security Risk Management Framework and practices as well as further evolving our Business Continuity Management. This will entail identifying and conducting control effectiveness testing and deep dive reviews into areas of potential concern for aiding continuous improvement and reducing our operational risk.

The role reports directly to the local Chief Risk Officer and has a dotted line to our Group CISOs in our headquarters in Germany.

Key priorities will be:

  • Enhance and implement the local information security policy framework.
  • Perform IT / Cyber / technology risk assessments, technical security related reviews, assess the effectiveness of processes/controls and risks related to third party organisations.
  • IT Security Risk Assessments and Third Party Risk Assessment
  • Assess any Information Security incident assessment and follow-up of remediation action items.
  • Execute and complete individual IT and cyber security audits and special project reviews relating to various applications, IT infrastructure and other relevant IT domains.
  • Conduct independent risk-based IT and cyber security audits to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Conduct Information Security audit at our Third Parties as required.
  • Drive local Risk projects addressing incoming changes to regulation and legislation like CPS234 Information Security Tripartite Remediation Project.
  • Assist the Chief Risk Officer on APRA regulatory engagements as required.
  • Being contact point for the Group CISO and Specialty’s IT Governance team on Group level.

About You:

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Finance or similar field required. Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience. At least two years in a risk management position required.
  • Good understanding of Information Security Risk Management and Business Continuity Management.
  • Audit and control testing experience would be beneficial.
  • Working knowledge/ experience with MS Office product suite.
