WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

About the Team

The Project Manager L400-2 Through Life Support is responsible for the planning and management of the Through Life Support Projects within Interim Support Services of the LAND 400 Phase 2 mounted combat reconnaissance capability.

About the Role

The role includes the Project Management and Control Account Management of related services provided by RDA such as Maintenance Support, Training Support, and Engineering Support. Key focus of the role is the management of Interim Support Services for the L400-2 Block 1 fleet of 25 vehicles for the Australian Defence Force (ADF), with a secondary focus of L400-2 Block 2 fleet as it is introduced into service. Another focus of the role is the management of complex CoA Survey & Quotes (S&Q) for the Block I fleet, which includes the response of S&Qs and execution of received S&Q orders (fleet modifications and upgrades).

The general and generic duties of the Project Manager L400-2 Through Life Support include, but are not limited to:

Project Lifecycle Management:

  • Lead the development, planning, and execution of projects through all stages of the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and ASDEFCON contracting standards.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets, incorporating risk management and mitigation strategies to ensure project objectives are met on time and within scope.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Effectively manage relationships with stakeholders including the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA), approved subcontractors, international partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Facilitate coordination and communication among all stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for Interim Support Services of the L400-2 Block I fleet and subsequent Block II services.

Resource and Supply Chain Management:

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and allocation of resources and supply support required for the execution of LAND 400-2 Support Services projects.
  • Manage and oversee the coordination of Survey & Quote (S&Q) requests from customers, ensuring the timely execution of S&Q orders in collaboration with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams.

Risk and Issue Management:

  • Identify, track, and manage project issues and risks, developing and implementing risk mitigation plans to address potential impacts on project delivery.
  • Lead the progression of Corrective Action Reports through structured reviews with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution and continuous improvement.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Review, monitor, and report on project performance against the Contract Master Schedule and the Statement of Work.
  • Prepare and present detailed progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting project achievements, potential risks, and proposed remediation plans as necessary.

Leadership and Technical Oversight:

  • Provide leadership in the assessment of technical system performance and maintenance services, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.
  • Lead technical reviews and evaluations to ensure project deliverables meet quality and performance standards.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the project, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Ad Hoc Duties:

  • Fulfill additional duties and responsibilities as required, adapting to changing project demands and organizational priorities.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, business, Engineering or a related discipline; strong ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings and to assimilate complex instructions with ease;
  • Proven (7-10 years) experience in managing projects and project resources including subcontractors using PM methodologies, preferably within Defence Industry;
  • Proven capability in managing project resources and delivering projects on time, within scope, and within budget;
  • High level of self-motivation and standards with the ability to multi-task; balancing "analysis" with "doing";
  • Ability to travel international and interstate, when required; and
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
