IT Systems Administrator with Cloud experience | Newcastle Your new company

Join a dynamic team at an innovative government organisation, offering a unique opportunity for an IT System Administrator. This is a permanent position based in Newcastle and provides a flexible working environment that allows you to work from home 2/3 days a week and also gives you the option of 9-day working fortnights.

Your new role

The System Administrator plays a crucial role in setting up and maintaining the technological environment, emphasising a cloud-first approach. Their responsibilities include ensuring reliable and secure technology platforms for business operations, serving as the main technical escalation point for Technology Service Desk requests, and supporting end users in implementing seamless technology solutions.

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience working as a Level 3 engineer role providing BAU support, with extensive knowledge and experience working with public Cloud providers such as AWS, Azure & Microsoft 365
• Vendor Certification such as Azure / Microsoft 365 (Desirable)
• Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft technologies including, EntraAD, Intune, Office 365, and ADDS is a must have.
• Demonstrated experience instilling reliance to the environment through DR, backup, monitoring, alerting and failover capabilities to meet business SLAs
• Familiarity working with automating to drive consistency with scripting and configuration tools
• Familiarity with Okta, Meraki Cloud, Avepoint, Datadog, Airlock & Palo Alto platforms is desirable.
• Experience working in NIST, ISO, E8 governed environments (Desirable)
