Role 

The WHS Compliance Manager will be responsible for supporting the Safety Team with a focus on Risk, Safety and Compliance Management. The purpose of this position is to manage the development, implementation, monitoring and review of SW people risk strategies and governance programs to eliminate, minimise and/or mitigate safety risk across all business areas. In addition, the role is accountable for maintaining internal systems to ensure governance programs meet the needs of the various business units and key external reporting requirements.

Duties include but not limited to 

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve the WHS management system and processes.
  • Lead, execute, coordinate, and maintain various audit activities to meet SW, relevant regulatory and legislative requirements. Assist with preparation for and completion of External audits when required.
  • Develop and implement recommendations and action plans arising from audit and risk assessment processes.
  • Build and maintain relationships by liaising, consulting, coaching, and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure priorities are met, in the delivery and implementation of the audit, safety performance data, findings, trends and insights.
  • Implement reporting processes, analyse trends and data analytics for Board, EHS committees, senior management, and site management reports. 
  • Provide advice, support, guidance and training regarding the Health and Safety governance framework, data analytics and reports and insights.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of business and strategic plans to meet the WHS strategic plans.
  • Lead the development and implementation of training, targeted safety programs, projects, and initiatives to improve safety outcomes.
  • Overall management of the safety management system (WHSM)
  • Actively monitor and review safety trends and work practices to provide relevant and meaningful data to enable discussion and decisions to be made to drive improved safety performance and minimise risk.
