Main Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:

HR Functions (outside of recruitment processes):

• Assist employees with enquires and coordinate with payroll if required
• Complete and document performance reviews, pay increases, disciplinary matters and terminations in line with legislative requirements
• Participating in the implementation of improved systems, compliance, and information management

Recruitment

• Working with Senior Management to create job descriptions, manage the hiring channels and candidate process, including selection and onboarding of all roles in our team
• Conduct and assist in interviews for new hires
• Contracts and employee forms generation and administration
• Manage the onboarding process including developing and maintaining of employee files
• Manage the people lifecycle from onboarding through to offboarding including initial screening through to exit interviews
• Perform background/reference checks

Culture

• Promote and encourage personal growth and effective communication
• Live and breathe employee value internally and externally
• Understand and support policies and procedures of the organisation 
• Continually contribute to and support the team, including Directors, Leadership, management and all team members

Training and Development

• Onboarding of new staff to their roles and assisting with 
• Assist in maintaining training program and schedule to ensure aligns with developmental plans  

Other

• Support and deliver ad hoc duties when necessary by management 
• Answering general office phone calls 

Education & Experience

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Human Resources

Key Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of the Australian Fair Work award system 
• The maturity to work with a widely varied workforce including blue collar, white collar, international and local personnel
• Previous experience/exposure to onboarding personnel, with a strong focus on Health and Safety
• Recruitment experience, ideally in the trades or construction industry
• Stress tolerance and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Friendly caring nature and approachable with an open-door policy
• Diligent and thorough in research to ensure all HR avenues are investigated and advice is up to date and relevant
