Lead Architect (Azure/AWS)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Cloud Architect to drive the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in either AWS or Microsoft Azure who can lead architecture strategy, mentor teams, and align technology solutions with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of cloud-native and hybrid architectures using AWS or Azure
  


• Define and maintain architecture standards, best practices, and governance frameworks
  


• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, security, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions
  


• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to architects and development teams
  


• Evaluate and recommend cloud services, tools, and frameworks
  


• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance (e.g., GDPR), and performance requirements
  


• Drive cloud migration strategies and modernization initiatives
  


• Oversee cost optimization and cloud financial management (FinOps principles)
  


• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on cloud strategy
  

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 3+ years in cloud architecture
  


• Proven expertise in either AWS or Microsoft Azure (certifications strongly preferred)
  


• Strong understanding of cloud architecture patterns (microservices, serverless, containerization)
  


• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation)
  


• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  


• Solid understanding of security, networking, and identity management in cloud environments
  


• Experience leading technical teams and influencing stakeholders
  


• Fluent in English and Dutch or French 
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
  


• Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments
  


• Knowledge of data platforms, AI/ML services, or event-driven architectures
  


• Experience working in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, etc.)
