Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Manager, Human Resources is responsible for implementing internal and external human resources strategies and policies for our portfolio of hotels across Canada, as well as our corporate office. The Manager, Manager, Human Resources will lead the routine functions of the HR department including recruitment and selection, retention strategies, total rewards, organization development initiatives, performance and recognition programs, policies and procedures, employee engagement initiatives, occupational health and safety, and employee relations. The Manager, Human Resources will support both English- and French-speaking team members within the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and manage all areas of Human Resources and use your discretion to create and uphold procedures and policies, ensuring alignment with company strategy values, standards, and legislation
- Translate business priorities into property Human Resources strategies, plans and actions
- Create value through proactive approaches that will affect performance outcome or control cost.
- Implement and sustain Human Resources initiatives with the hotels through the Hotel General Managers
- Maintain up to date knowledge of cross-provincial legal requirements in all aspects of Human Resources
- Understand, and have a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive work environment
- Manage the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring
- Develop and provide feedback on training and employee development, orientation and onboarding programming
- Execute and follow-up on engagement survey related activities
- Contribute to policy and procedure review and development
- Coordinate the human capital review process at the properties and leads succession planning activities on property and in the market, as appropriate
- Plan, draft, and oversee internal communication, including team social media groups events calendar, announcements, etc.
- Work with external service providers to ensure the benefits plan is in line with business direction and employee value proposition, and also administers and educates employees on the plan
- Manage and update HRIS system BambooHR
- Lead and participate in succession management and workforce planning
- Assist General Managers in analyzing open positions to balance the development of existing talent and business needs
- Prepare documentation as needed, including employment agreements, offer letters, confirmation of employment in English and French
- Ensure reporting, documentation and administrative requirements are completed in a timely manner
- Report on key HR metrics and analytics
- Conduct employee file reviews and audits to ensure record keeping is current and up to date
QUALIFICATIONS:Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience
- Previous experience working in franchise setting supporting multiple group
- Previous experience working in an administrative role for a med-large organization
- Demonstrated knowledge of cross-provincial employment standards, human rights, OHS and privacy legislation
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to handle conflict

Desired Education
- University degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline
- CHRP designation or in progress an asset
