Job Description - Account Manager, MLSE LaunchPad

As a member of the Partnerships team, the Account Manager will be responsible for servicing a portfolio of existing corporate partners, maintaining relationships, and being a liaison between teams at MLSE LaunchPad to oversee all corporate partner related sponsorships. The ideal applicant has strong leadership, collaboration and critical thinking skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and experience working in a partnership development role.

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team at MLSE throughout all stages of partnership development – ideation, planning, and execution: help innovate the partnership process and own a partnership strategy.
  • Build strong and trusted business relationships with internal and external stakeholders that are connected to your partnership portfolio through regular and pro-active contact.
  • Develop a deep and thorough understanding of all partner’s sponsorship, business objectives, and desired outcomes to continually deliver against business objectives for both the partner and our organization.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of creative marketing solutions that deliver against partner objectives, positively impact youth, and contribute to our overarching youth development strategy.
  • Update key partnership documents and contribute to detailed post-mortems on programs and year-end reports.
  • Develop a reporting strategy and create strong presentations to present clear and impactful information
  • Maintain an understanding of investments and programs to communicate knowledgeably and enthusiastically about the work of our organization.
  • Keep inspired and up to date on best practices, new practices, and innovative ideas, both inside and outside of our sector.

  • 3+ years working in Partnerships.
  • Experience working with youth, for a non-profit or in a Sport For Development organization are all considered assets.
  • Post-Secondary Education in the field of Business or Marketing is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
  • You’re a people person. You have a natural ability to build and foster relationships at all levels of an organization – meeting new people and building a network excites you.
  • You have strong critical thinking and conceptual skills to plan strategically, and you have the ability to translate that into practical and feasible execution.
  • You have experience building and executing partnership stewardship strategies.
  • You don’t just have the idea - you know how to position it and get colleagues aligned to it.
  • You are able to interact with diverse communities and community organizations with high energy and professionalism.
  • You are versatile and are willing to work with changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • You have exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office and able to adapt to new software quickly.
  • You are able to work evenings and weekends as required.
