Job Summary Share your high-level administrative skills to support the citizens of British Columbia. The Registry Administrator position administers all Provincial / Supreme Court programs and operations associated with court administration program in the location. This includes the provision of technical, administrative, financial and court recording services. The position requires an appointment as a Deputy District Registrar of the Supreme Court, Registrar of Small Claims, and a Justice of the Peace.
Job Requirements Education & Experience:
- Post-secondary diploma or higher in business administration, public administration, criminology or a related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience within the justice or legal system (e.g., grade twelve (12) plus three (3) or more years of experience working in the justice or legal system) may be considered.
- Must have or be able to qualify within six (6) months for an appointment as a Justice of the Peace in the Province of British Columbia.
- Must have or be able to complete the Deputy District Registrar certification program to be a DDR of the Supreme Court of British Columbia and Deputy Registrar of the Provincial Court of British Columbia.
- At least three (3) years of related clerical/office experience; OR two (2) years of experience working with Court Registry related documentation and processes.
- Experience using computers and software programs e.g., Word, Excel.
Preference May Be Given To Candidates With - Three (3) years or more experience within the Court System (Court Administration/Sheriff Services).
- Two (2) years or more experience as a Justice of the Peace.
- Experience using Civil and Criminal electronic tracking systems, JUSTIN, CEIS.
Provisos - May be required to travel.
- Maybe be required to work flexible hours.
- May be required to work overtime.
- May be required to work in other areas of Court Services Branch.
- Will be required to work on a rotational schedule as late Justice of the Peace within the registry.
