Job Description - Community Liaison Worker

Job Title: Community Liaison Worker Hourly Rate: $16.50 Contract Term: 9-week term, starting between May 1 and July 22, 2024 Hours of Work: 35 hours per week Position Type: Canada Summer Jobs contract Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must meet the criteria below to qualify for roles funded by Canada Summer Jobs.
  • The candidate must be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
  • The candidate must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
  • The candidate must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment

Who We Are: Heritage Park is Canada's largest living history museum and offers visitors a chance to experience life in Western Canada from the 1860s to the early 1950s. Responsibilities: The Community Liaison Worker assists the Community Engagement team in the delivery of community-based programming. Responsibilities for this role include:
  • Acting as on-site liaison for contracted performers on their performance dates
  • Completing set-up and tear-down work
  • Ensuring Marketing has the correct information regarding all programs.?
  • Assisting the Community Engagement team in maintaining partnerships with cultural groups and supporting the cultural advisory work done by this team
Required Qualifications:
  • Must meet the Canada Summer Jobs eligibility criteria
  • Enrolment in or completion of post-secondary courses such as Hospitality, Event Management, Volunteer Management, Communications or Marketing would be an asset
  • Past experience in customer service, communications, event coordination, or tourism would be an asset
  • Prior experience with an online volunteer management system, as well as scheduling or supervising volunteers is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills to relay information and follow instructions accurately??
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills in a client-faced setting, including the ability to communicate, connect and maintain relationships with community partners
  • Understanding of, and respect for, diverse perspectives, cultures, and backgrounds within the community
