As the Compensation Analyst, you will be responsible for providing consultation, guidance, analysis and recommendations related to compensation and salary administration. You will assist in HR related research and development by analyzing business needs to help identify gaps and propose appropriate solutions. All work is performed independently, accurately, timely and with a high-level of confidentiality.
- Conduct job evaluation reviews of positions across the corporation, ensuring integrity of the system and internal equity.
- Provide guidance and support in the area of classification and job evaluation.
- Provide advice and consultation on wage and salary administration, including making recommendations on issues not covered by practices, guidelines or standards.
- Coordinate and implement corporate-wide compensation-related activities, including merit and general wage increases.
- Participate in completion and analysis of relevant compensation surveys.
- Participate in process review and improvement activities.
- Assist in developing solutions for business problems by conducting business case analysis, researching and documenting business processes and cost/benefit analysis. Prepare clear, concise reports and/or presentations outlining findings and recommendations.
- Liaise with providers of services and other MPI departments, to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems.
- Develop associated procedures, documentation, and devises effective and efficient approaches to achieve HR objectives.
- Degree in a related field, with additional education in the area of compensation.
- Designation in compensation (i.e. Certified Compensation Professional) or currently enrolled in the program is an asset.
- 5 years' human resources experience, including 2 years' in compensation and salary administration.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and interact successfully at various levels.
- Effective public speaking and facilitation skills with the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively.
- Excellent written communication skills, with ability to develop clear, concise reports and recommendations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of compensation practices, programs and policies along with other related human resource policies and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an aptitude for mathematics and research and attention to detail.
- Superior organization skills, with the ability to multi-task and take initiative.
- Advanced computer skills with working knowledge of relevant computer programs, including HRMS/payroll system and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
