Description With 18 locations across Ontario, our client is the leader in their industry. As a result of exciting growth and a recent promotion, our client is looking to hire a Controller for the Finance team. There is some hybrid flexibility of 1 day/week working from home after the probationary period. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Controller leads a team of 7 staff. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a close-knit team and lead the month end close and financial reporting. You will work closely with the Operations team as well as leaders from across the organization. You will manage full-cycle accounting, payroll and general accounting. This is an exciting opportunity to step out of the "day-to-day Accounting grind" and get involved in daily operations and recommend process improvements. To be considered for this role, you must be a CPA with 5+ years of experience. You must have strong hands-on people management experience and be a strong leader and mentor. You should also be a strong communicator who has developed teams and can build strong relationships across the organization. Audit managers looking to jump from mid to large sized CPA firms where they have managed staff on several audit engagements at a time are invited to apply for this opportunity. Requirements

• Oversee month-end financial close process
• Prepare and review journal entries (revenue, banking, loans, accruals, intercompany, etc.)
• Manage AR, AP and payroll processes
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
• Directly manage team of 7 staff at corporate level and payroll administration
• Identify and implement new ways to improve quality and efficiency of financial processes
• Manage external audit and act as main point of contact for corporate taxation issues
• Manage all tax accounts with the CRA, including leading tax audits, submitting tax payments and controlling all tax programs
• Provide qualitative and quantitative analysis to senior management to make recommendations in order to improve financial results and/or overall financial reporting process
• Oversee purchasing process of the organization, including negotiating with suppliers, contract negotiations and reviewing pending contracts for financial impact.
• Recommend and implement major process improvements
• CPA designation
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal control processes
• Experience with coaching and development, and managing team
• Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software
• Experience with Oracle NetSuite would be an asset
• Previous experience as an auditor strongly recommended but not required
• Ability to multitask, make operational decisions and support strategic decisions
