Job Description - Coordinator-Community Engagement, FASP

Volunteer & Member Management
  • Responsible for executing volunteer plan and experience.
  • Responsible for on-going recruitment and onboarding of committees, working groups, community organizations and volunteers.
  • Creating onboarding package, terms of reference, and additional materials to support members.
  • Supporting the stakeholder engagement plan and strategy with Project Manager.
Responsibility 2. Communications and Project Specific Duties
  • Responsible for creating and executing stakeholder engagement and communications plans.
  • Developing public relations strategy and key messages for media and partners.
  • Delivering engaging bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly informal/formal communications to various stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Developing and maintaining community pipeline of partners and development opportunities, including attending events to promote ways to get involved.
  • Developing public-facing communications materials utilizing internal tools and resources in both English and French.
  • Working with the project team to meet project deliverables.
What we are looking for :
  • The minimum qualifications for this job are post-secondary education in communications or a related field and a minimum of two years of job-related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Community Engagement and Volunteer Management experience.
  • Marketing and Communications experience.
  • Completion or working towards certification in: Volunteer Management Certification (CVA), and/or Public Relations Knowledge (PRK) Certification.
  • Knowledge of volunteer, community and healthcare sector across Ontario and preferably Canada.
  • Ability to solve complex problems.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence others.
Working conditions :
  • Much of the work is performed in an office/hybrid work environment.
  • May include long to moderate hours sitting and using computers and office equipment.
  • May be required to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time up to 20 kg (or another weight).
  • Events require a higher than usual physical effort during the preparation phase which includes transport of event materials (lifting and carrying boxes, setting up and dismantling displays).
  • This position will require travel to attend conferences, workshops and meetings as required.
