High School English Teacher

Teach English 14-17 periods of M1-6 (Student ages 12-17) and 5-7 periods of Mini English Program (MEP) in M1-3 classes (Student ages 12-14) -50 minutes is one period. Teaching periods are around 22 periods a week and not more than 24 periods a week. Some covering classes may occasionally be required from the school. If more than 24 hours a week are taught there will be extra payment. Teacher will be in the school from 7.40am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
Contract from June 2024 to March 2025 Duties may include:

• materials preparation and lesson planning
• making and marking of exams alongside the school administrative system
• attending or leading some English group activities
• preparing students for English events and competitions
• greeting students/parents at school gates in the morning (1 day a week)

We will provide back up support for the teacher that includes an ongoing online training course and ideas for activities for all age levels. We have both foreign and Thai managers who will advise and help you and will visit you at the school when required. The teaching will focus mostly on speaking and listening skills with some exam preparation. Some reading and writing skills will be required to be focused for MEP classes and M4-6 classes. School and Location Triam U-dom Pattanakarn Pathumthani School, Bangkok is located on Lam Luk Ka Road. There are 5 foreign teachers working in the school. It is a large school with 2,600 students in 66 classes. It has Mini-English Program for Mattayom 1-3 levels (1 class in each). These MEP students study some subjects like maths and science in English. The school is about 20-30 minutes away from the nearest Skytrain station (Khu Khot Station). The public transportation like bus or minivan are available in the area. With the Skytrain, you are less than 1hour away from the center of Bangkok. It is also about an hour from Nakhon Nayok province where you can do rafting and kayaking in the nature. Accommodation and living expenses
A standard apartment in the school area will usually cost you around 5-7,000 baht a month. A standard Thai meal can be found for as little as 50-60 baht in local restaurants. As one of the residential areas of Bangkok, it is convenient to go shopping at local supermarket and department store, like Big C and Tesco Lotus that can provide western comforts when needed.
