Salary Grade: N06 From: $77,627.00 To: $97,034.00 Job Summary Provide business analysis, technical consultation and system administration services in support of all human resource systems. Serve as the HR systems functional expert and front-line point of contact for HR system-related enquiries. As gatekeeper and communications partner in the business to IT relationship, translate business needs into requirements, and communicate this information to IT. Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities
  • Identify, evaluate and facilitate development of systems and procedures that are cost-effective, increase efficiency and meet business requirements
  • Conduct fit-gap analysis to determine if customizations to the system are required, and/or analyze if business process improvements can be made. Participate in the implementation of business process efforts jointly undertaken with system enhancements.
  • Provide consultative services to clients (both within Human Resources and the WSIB) to manage the requirements gathering process to aid in resolution of business issues.
  • Liaise between business clients and Information Technology to facilitate translation of business requirements into technological solutions.
  • Act as the project coordinator during system upgrades or enhancements
  • Maintain and administer all HR Systems and conduct analysis on any known issues
  • Serve as the gatekeeper prior to Information Technology involvement when a business user experiences a system issue; investigate to determine root cause and if IT involvement is required.
  • Manage system security access, perform security audits (both internally and working with external auditors) and work with IT Security to establish system access standards.
  • Update and maintain system database information as communicated to the systems area by our business partners.
  • Lead Quality Management (QM) processes for all HR systems and report QM outcomes to the Manager, HR Systems.
  • Coordinate all system testing conducted by end users and identify all parties required to participate in user testing prior to launch.
  • Identify test requirements and criteria, develop test plan, scripts and cases; communicate and work with business testers to ensure compliance to and understanding of test plan.
  • Review and investigate testing failures and communicate outcomes back to business testers.
  • Independently analyze test results with the objective of providing a recommendation to the Manager, HR Systems on the feasibility of system launch.
  • Serve as the center of excellence for systems using best practices and IT standards compliance
  • Ensure system security is in compliance with corporate and IT best practice policies.
  • Ensure system data integrity through promotion of IT best practice standards for batch processing and data entry completed by end users
  • Follow best practice quality management standards ensuring accuracy of test results
  • Develop and maintain training materials, and deliver training to end users
  • Answer end user enquiries regarding system usage and abilities
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required
Job Requirements
  • Education (Level and Specialty / Discipline):
  • University degree in business administration, human resources or information technology
  • Experience (Years of Related Experience and Type of Experience):
  • 2 years’ experience in human resource systems, information technology and/or human resources
  • Experience with enterprise level human resource systems such as SAP, Oracle or PeopleSoft
  • Working knowledge of some HR functionalities including compensation, payroll, benefits, recruiting, policy, and/or HR business services.
  • Basic knowledge of information technology best practices in areas such as database administration, development, security and/or strategy.
  • Development experience working with Service Now, Microsoft Apps and/or Sharepoint would be an asset.
