Job Description
About Ownr
Ownr is Canada’s leading platform for entrepreneurs to start, manage, and grow their businesses. Ownr simplifies the registration and compliance process for entrepreneurs so that they can save time, and money, and focus on what really matters — building their business.
Ownr has been used to register or incorporate 165,000+ Canadian businesses. Whether you have plans for a small side hustle, a full-time scaling operation, or the next tech unicorn, Ownr is here to make the journey easy and accessible.
What is the opportunity?
Ownr is looking for a Junior Account Specialist. In this role, you will help simplify often intimidating legal structures and terminology for entrepreneurs, and show them how to use Ownr to start their business.
You will be in charge of monitoring Ownr’s chat support channel (Intercom) and uncovering quick opportunities for conversion among Ownr users.
Reporting to the Ownr’s Head of Sales, you will have opportunities to focus on performance, career growth, and long-term development.
We are looking for a creative, organized, and driven individual who is excited to support entrepreneurship in Canada. The ideal candidate will thrive if they can simplify complex concepts, work through high volumes of inbound requests, and iterate on automated processes.
What will you do?
Connect with new Ownr users via chat and phone, and help them identify solutions within Ownr that address their early-stage business needs
Educate Ownr users on legal terminology, compliance, business structures, etc.
Support 25-30 high-ticket priority chat conversations per day
Nurture user chats from start through to conversion and track/report on sales and conversion metrics
Present opportunities for experimentation within the sales chat function
Partner closely across Ownr verticals and push the limits of a chat-based conversion rate
What you will bring:
Must have:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, communications, or other related field
Willingness to learn about legal concepts and other issues affecting business owners in Canada
Eagerness to speak with hundreds (likely thousands) of entrepreneurs and uncover ways to help their business
The ability to successfully work in a self-directed manner by leveraging strong time management skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple and effective manner
Nice to have:
Experience using Intercom, Hubspot, or similar customer-engagement software
Outbound/inbound sales experience in a startup environment and/or fast-paced growing organization
An excitement to propose new things, iterate on execution, and develop tests that showcase the results, good or bad
A positive attitude and desire to contribute to our highly collaborative team culture
What’s in it for you?
The chance to help impact Ownr’s business within an exciting, high-growth environment
The opportunity to learn from established leaders, managers, and coaches
Building experience and learning from a rapidly scaling business
Opportunity to have a startup feel in your day-to-day, paired with the support of Canada’s largest commercial institution
A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including base + variable pay
Participation in RBC’s paid Time Off and comprehensive Benefits plan
An agile, low-ego, and supportive work culture of diverse, high-performing people
The opportunity to leverage RBC learning and development programs
