This posting will be used to fill one 2-year term position working 75 hours bi-weekly and will also be used to fill anticipatory permanent full-time positions.
It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.
This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon.

Who we are looking for
Reporting to the Manager of Mental Wellness and Substance Use Services (MWSUS ). This position is responsible for developing and overseeing administrative practices that conform to professional standards and ethical codes, within the legal and ethical bounds of confidentiality for Mental Wellness and Substance Use Services (MWSUS). Primary responsibilities include: (a) supervisory duties, receptionist and administrative duties, and training all new Mental Health Staff in administrative procedures; and (b) being an integral support and contact person for the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, which includes training and supporting staff in its use, developing and writing policy for the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system with the office manager, auditing charts for compliance with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system requirements, considering future developments of the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system and maintaining the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

Essential qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.
Diploma in Office Administration / Business Administration (or related discipline).
Experience with financial administration, including knowledge of pay and benefits (i.e., time sheets, accounts payable, travel claims, purchase orders, cheque requisitions);
Considerable experience supervising staff in an office setting.
Experience creating/working in an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system is an asset.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Desired knowledge, skills and suitability
If selected for an interview, candidates should have, and may be assessed on, the following:
Ability to build rapport and use a participative approach within a team environment
Experience working with people affected by mental health challenges and/or impacted by trauma
Experience working with people of diverse cultures and backgrounds
Ability to deal with changing priorities, staff conflicts, client/family complaints
Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to process time sheets accurately & interpreting collective agreements (protocol & procedures)
Basic understanding of financial functions
Good understanding and use of computers and software

You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.
RCMP Security Clearance with Vulnerable Sector,
Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence.

This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:
Lift up to 25lbs
Driving between facilities to carry out work responsibilities or to carry out office errands is also expected on a regular basis
Exposure to emotional, physically abusive and/or dissatisfied clients
This position is done in an office environment with extended periods of time in front of a computer
