The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42/Hr. - CAD $55.91/Hr.

As a Staff Nurse at Providence Health, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients/residents receive comprehensive support. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assess patients' physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Incorporate teaching into care plans to educate patients and families.
• Make referrals to resources as needed.
• Support fellow healthcare professionals.
• Operate within the framework of Providence Health Care's mission, vision, and values.

Education:

• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives, or in Residential Care and Mental Health.
• Successful completion of the St. Paul's Hospital intravenous therapy skills review within one month of appointment.
• Completion of a post graduate critical care course or two years' recent critical care or radiology experience in an equivalent setting.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.
• Organizational skills to manage work effectively.
• Proficiency in operating related equipment.

The Radiology Clinic at St. Paul’s Hospital provides medical imaging used to diagnosis and help treat diseases. Imaging techniques include x-ray, computed tomography (CT), mammography, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

 

A radiology nurse, also referred to as a medical imaging nurse, is a nursing professional that cares for patients that must undergo diagnostic imaging procedures and radiation therapy, through imaging tests, medical professionals are able to see inside a patient’s body, enabling them to easily diagnose illnesses and suspected injuries. Radiation therapy is also commonly used to treat certain illnesses, such as cancer. In order to provide proper care, radiology nurses not only focus on patient comfort, but ensure that accurate images are being taken to help diagnose these injuries and illnesses.

 

 

 

Your Day to Day:

• Conduct thorough patient/resident assessments through chart reviews, observations, interviews, and collaboration with peers.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans based on evidence-based practices, prioritizing patient/resident needs.
• Adhere to established policies, procedures, and PHC standards while providing high-quality nursing care.
• Monitor patient/resident progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care plans as needed for optimal results.
• Maintain accurate records of assessments, care plans, patient/resident status, and discharge plans using manual and computerized systems.
• Identify and address patient/resident and family learning needs, providing education and referrals as necessary.
• Provide direction to staff, promote teamwork, and share clinical knowledge to enhance patient care.
• Support nursing research initiatives and contribute to the improvement of patient/resident care policies and procedures.
• Advocate for patients/residents' rights and dignity, facilitate discharge plans, and collaborate with families and community resources.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the healthcare team.
