The Opportunity As their new Senior Mechanical Designer you will be a key part of the design team, working with production to conceive new and innovate solutions. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, something about which you can be excited, while taking pride in the knowledge that you were an integral part of the team that innovated the winning concept. Position Description
  • Create intricate jig and machine design layouts utilizing component data and GDT diagrams.
  • Select appropriate off-the-shelf parts for mechanical assemblies.
  • Generate design models, schematics, and parts lists for equipment, sub-assemblies, or product using SOLIDWORKDS 3D solid modeling software.
  • Review design and system adherence to relevant standards, such as OSHA, CSA, or those specified by the client.
  • Supervise and communicate with external design contractors.
  • Conduct load and stress computations as necessary.
  • Offer guidance, and leadership to, less experienced designers.
Experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with automated welding and assembly equipment
  • Experience working in Automotive and Automation
  • Experienced in AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS
  • Experienced with weld and working at a facility that emphasized welding, taking it into concentration for all aspects of a project
  • Experience with mentoring and/or supervising others
