The job:
Thermo Fisher Scientific's Mission is to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. Accomplishing that Mission includes capturing innovation to build the company's patent portfolio, managing third party patent risks to the company's innovative products, and capturing intelligence on competitors to guide innovation strategies and intellectual property (IP) risk management.
We have an exciting opportunity for a European IP Counsel to join our Specialty Diagnostics Group's (SDG) IP team supporting one or more European-based Divisions within the Group.
As European IP Counsel you will lead strategic and pragmatic patent portfolio development, including identifying, managing and addressing patent opportunities and risks in a dynamic and commercially active environment. You will also provide IP training and general IP support at multiple European SDG sites and support European oppositions as required. This role will closely collaborate with legal, R&D, and business teams.
We are happy to offer the role as fully remote (working from home), based anywhere in Europe. Some international travel may be required - up to 10% per annum, including overnight stays. European Qualified patent attorneys at law firms are encouraged to apply.

This role sits within our Specialty Diagnostics Group (SDG). With over 40 locations worldwide, the divisions within SDG focus on in vitro diagnostics including test kits, reagents, culture media, instruments, and associated products to serve customers in health care, clinical, pharmaceutical, and industrial laboratories.
