Job Description - Director of Public Relations

Superside is looking for an experienced Head of Global PR with a bias for action. You will report to the CMO and collaborate closely with Marketing, our founders and broader commercial leadership. As Superside’s Head of Global PR, you will be responsible for shaping market & media perception of our company through driving Superside’s global PR strategy and execution. This is a new role where you will be a driver in defining what great PR looks like at a global scale; we are looking for someone who is self-motivated and excited to build the comms function from the ground up. You also have long-standing relationships with tech and business editors at Tier 1 publications. The ideal candidate has a full grasp of strategic PR, and knows how to navigate complex B2B SaaS topics with relevant journalists. We are looking for someone with a proven track record in meeting business goals through earned media. What You'll Do

  • Establish Superside’s PR practices for scale and impact, focused on driving high-impact coverage in relevant media outlets. Coach our agency partners on how to maximize their efforts.
  • Work with senior leadership to define new media narratives for Superside and activate these globally, ensuring that they support global commercial goals and align with initiatives for other audiences.
  • Generate news by partnering within the business to find new angles that will help us reach strategic goals: you don’t wait for a brief on what needs to be communicated. In the absence of news, you are confident in creating it through the use of our proprietary data or media-worth activations.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key journalists, editors, and media influencers. This will include frequent travel to New York and other media hubs.
  • Plan and guide the distribution of persuasive press releases, media kits, and other materials to generate interest and coverage.
  • Be prepared to respond promptly and effectively to any PR crises, working to protect and enhance the company's reputation.
  • Utilize data and analytics to track the success of PR efforts, adjusting strategies as needed for maximum impact.
  • Assess, adapt and own Superside’s agency approach: selecting which partners we work with, how we work with them and at what price point.
What You'll Need To Succeed
  • 12+ years of experience working in PR both agency side and in-house at a tech company, B2B SaaS preferred
  • You have worked closely with founders and/or founder-run businesses
  • You have a proven track record of building the perception of companies and their founders, ideally in the technology space
  • You have a documented history of building close relationships with tier one journalists, and creating notable coverage as a result
  • You have the ability to balance between the strategic & tactical and to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • You are a great communicator, fun to work with and journalists answer the phone when you call
  • You work well under high pressure situations where the company’s reputation is at stake
  • Team- and change management experience are beneficial as you will build and manage your team here at Superside
