The IT group manages and maintains the institute's IT infrastructure and central IT services. It also develops scientific software and applications for ongoing scientific projects as well as specific control software for detectors and satellites under construction. The main research areas of the High Energy Group (HEG) are compact remnants of stars such as white dwarfs, neutron stars and black holes, the evolution of supermassive black holes at the center of galaxies and the formation of the largest structures in the universe.
