Software Development Intern

Learning Objectives

Throughout the internship, the intern will learn how to:

• Develop well-crafted software.
• Employ DDD to ship useful software solutions.
• Build IoT/IIoT systems and automation components.
• Work with a culturally diverse team.

Contractual Arrangements

This engagement is for six months with the potential to extend to 1 year based on the achieved results and company needs. The compensation is as follows:

• Monthly Stipend.
• Student visa cost/Business visa - Cost to be covered and assisted in obtaining the visa (For candidates not based in Tanzania)
• A return Flight and Medical Insurance are not covered.

Any travel expenses incurred related to the job are to be covered, in line with the company travel policy.

Work Location

You will be based in Dar es Salaam with occasional trips upcountry and/or abroad (neighboring countries). The working schedule will be typical office hours from 8:30 am to 5 pm with a 30-minute lunch break, and flexible working hours from Monday to Friday. You will report to the Head of the NexIoT smart metering system product.

Requirements

Educational Requirements

• Recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or any related fields.
• Preferred majors: Computer Science, Electronic Communication Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering
• Minimum 1 year of practical experience in software development.

Skills Requirements

• Knowledge of GIS, OOP, Functional programming, Event-Driven Systems, Algorithms and Data Structures
• Naturally organized and trustworthy are essential requirements as the Intern will be working with different teams from different backgrounds, we expect you to be comfortable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Fluent in English.
• Basic/Intermediate level in Portuguese/French Language is an added advantage
