Job Description - Human Resources Coordinator

Position Description

Human Resources Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Organizing the interview process, including tracking steps and assigning appropriate personnel
  • Consulting with the Director to identify employment needs
  • Developing and updating human resource policies and position descriptions as needed
  • Marketing vacancies internally and externally, locally and internationally, to optimize the applicant pool
  • Informing applicants about position details, including working conditions, benefits, and duties
  • Screening applications for desired qualifications and recommending qualified candidates for interviews
  • Interviewing potential applicants regarding their skills, experience, and education
  • Contacting references and performing background checks on applicants
  • Ensuring all Child Protection protocols are completed for new hires and existing employees
  • Developing and coordinating new employee orientation and returning employee training on human resource policies
  • Coordinating new overseas employee transition to Cyprus, including transportation and housing
  • Keeping hiring process paperwork and employment records in accordance with policy and GDPR
  • Coordinating staff wellbeing activities, including leading the Wellbeing Committee

Additional Responsibilities

  • Providing administrative assistance, such as writing, editing, and proofreading e-mails/letters, drafting memos/documents, and preparing other communications on the Director’s behalf
  • Organizing meetings, including scheduling, sending reminders, and organizing catering when necessary
  • Answering phone calls in a polite and professional manner
  • Managing the executive’s calendar, including making appointments and prioritizing the most sensitive matters
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality when working with private material concerning individuals.
  • Organizing the Director’s flight and travel arrangements for recruitment trips and conferences.
  • Proofreading handbooks and policy manuals to assist the Director in delivery.
  • Other related responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Required Education, Skills & Experience

  • 2 years of work experience, preferably in human resources.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a related human resources field
  • Excellent English and Greek language writing and communication skills
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and software such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of employment law in Cyprus
  • Outstanding project management and organizational skills, and extraordinary attention to detail.
  • Solutions-oriented team player who is dedicated to getting the job done.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.
  • Strong cultural competency skills, including ability to communicate and work with a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Passion for education reform and the belief that every child can succeed
  • Flexibility, tenacity, high-quality work, resourcefulness, teamwork, and a sense of humor.
