Job Description - Associate Director of Institutional Advancement and Public Affairs

The appointee will be responsible for formulating corporate communications, engagement, and publicity strategies to build the reputation and promote institutional advancement of the University. He/She is expected to lead a wide range of functions including media relations, publicity, social media, events management, community engagement, public affairs, publications, crisis management, alumni relations, fund raising and donors’ management.

He/She is expected to be an effective communicator with the University’s stakeholders including staff, students, alumni, donors, partners and the wider society, and to liaise proactively with the media. He/She is also expected to provide prompt support to the senior management and support the Director’s functions when required. Requirements Applicants should have (i) a recognized degree; (ii) extensive working experience in strategic corporate communications, editorial, public affairs and stakeholders engagement; (iii) the knowledge and expertise in strategic application of digital and social media technologies, (iv) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and proficiency in Putonghua; (v) outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; (vi) strong organizational, problem-solving skills; (vii) the strategic mind with strong team management skills; and (viii) the ability to lead and manage projects independently and meet tight schedules. Applicants with experience working in tertiary education, public sector and complex work environment will have the advantage. Salary and Fringe Benefits The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
