Job Description - People Partner - Assistant Vice President / Vice President

About the Role

iCapital is seeking an experienced People Partner to manage our Asia expansion. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of large-scale growth objectives as we expand the company’s workforce in Asia and further enhance our global HR function. You will be responsible for talent acquisition, employee experience and engagement, onboarding and offboarding, employee relations and total rewards. This role will seek to deliver an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience and will be a trusted partner to our stakeholders.

This newly created position will provide guidance across all people related topics such as: employee relations, performance management, compensation, policy interpretation.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working globally, passionate about HR, able to cut through the noise to clearly align HR processes with business objectives and is empathic and connects easily with other people. This role must support macro-level company objectives while balancing the management of day-to-day priorities. The right candidate will understand the inherent friction between satellite offices and the home office and will have the right mix of persuasiveness and political savvy to manage to positive outcomes.

This role will be based in Hong Kong or Singapore and will report to the Senior Vice President, People. The position will require travel to other countries, as necessary.

 

Responsibilities

  • Advise and coach managers, as required, on HR issues such as performance, disciplinary matters, leave, etc., and provide the necessary support to ensure the issues are managed in line with company policy, best practice, and current legislation.
  • Coordinate immigration matters with immigration counsel and HR.
  • Responsible for compliance with in-country legislation pertaining to APAC employment matters; partnering with legal counsel where appropriate.
  • Manage and execute all general HR administration, internal communications, and events locally.
  • Oversee talent acquisition logistics, including developing recruiting plans with stakeholders, selecting and managing recruitment agencies, sourcing and interviewing, interview scheduling, making offer decisions.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in Human Resources as Business Partner; ‘specialist’ HR knowledge such as talent acquisition, total reward and/or employee relations is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of APAC labor law and regulations
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory hiring practices in Singapore and Hong Kong (knowledge of other countries a plus)
  • Solid connections with talent across the Technology, Finance, and/or Fintech spaces
  • Knowledgeable in building talent acquisition infrastructure within a hyper-growth organization to support scale
  • Hands-on mentality and the desire to constantly learn and grow
  • Experience working for a global company as well as a growth organization demonstrating adaptability and change management skills
  • Proven ability in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities that require strong organizational and execution skills as well as decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration skills across all levels and an understanding of when to raise issues
  • Passion for customer service and creating an amazing experience for every employee
  • Role model for the highest standards of professionalism and ethics
  • Experience with end-to-end management of employee data and ensuring data integrity across HRIS systems and manual spreadsheets
  • Proven ability to drive things through completion, be proactive and pragmatic
  • Advanced knowledge of applicant tracking systems, compensation planning systems, and MS office tools (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English required– both written and verbal
  • Able to travel as required
