The Centre for Innovative Service-Learning (CISL) at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) is dedicated to developing and implementing impactful credit-bearing service-learning courses and co-curricular social innovation initiatives. Our core focus in academic service-learning is to create meaningful learning opportunities that inspire students to translate knowledge and empathy into actions that address genuine community needs. CISL also manages HKBU’s first co-working space called TriAngle, which serves as a vibrant hub for creative minds to converge, network and make a positive impact through creativity, interactivity and collaboration. By engaging in service-learning and social innovation, we strive to provide students with the best student experience that fosters holistic development, cultivates a strong sense of social engagement, and empowers students with a profound sense of purpose.

CISL is seeking a well-rounded, creative and diligent individual to advance CISL’s service-learning and social innovation initiatives. 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, execution and evaluation of service-learning courses and projects, including communication with course instructors, community partners and collaborators for project activities; 
  • Coordinate the planning, creation and management of CISL’s digital content, branding and promotional plans and publicity, including website and social media platforms; 
  • Support the organisation and delivery of CISL’s activities and events;
  • Assist in collecting data for CISL’s evaluation reports;
  • Provide office support in general office administration matters; and 
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

The above key areas may change in light of the fast development of the university and evolving societal needs. Occasional working after work hours and on weekends, as well as travelling to the mainland and overseas, may be required.

Requirements:

  • An University degree or above with at least 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in higher education;
  • Skilled in graphic design, social media management and video editing and proficiency in Adobe Suite and relevant design tools;
  • An excellent team player and self-starter who is independent, mature, detail-minded, and responsive with an ability to think creatively and problem-solve; 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Excellent English and Chinese spoken and writing skills and proficiency in IT/MS Office;
  • Embody our values and is passionate about transforming lives through service-learning and social innovation; and
  • Open-mindedness towards emerging technologies, including generative AI.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years.Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. 



Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
