Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Network Support Engineer. The Network Support Engineer will be responsible for network administration, network engineering, technical support, troubleshooting, and network security. As a Network Support Engineer at a client, you'll be the first point of contact for our clients, providing technical assistance and support for SASE solutions and related technologies. You'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our clients' network environments.
Responsibilities:
● Monitor and support access points, switches, WAN appliances, and internet circuits across globally, overseeing network performance and capacity utilizing bandwidth, latency, CRC errors, drops, uptime, and QoS.
● Monitor to maintain >99.5% network uptime across all sites.
● Analyze NetFlow data for application monitoring.
● Configure and update SNMP traps and MIB definitions on appliances.
● Perform iOS upgrades on L3 and L2 appliances.
● Register valid MAC addresses in the NAC solution.
● Whitelist IP addresses on the firewalls and edge routers.
● Utilize network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, and Datadog.
● Demonstrate proficiency in fundamental network protocols including VLAN, STP, Trunks, Dot1x (802.1x), and wireless standards such as 802.11.
● Possess basic knowledge of routing protocols like BGP and OSPF to support network routing and dynamic routing configurations.
● Respond to client inquiries and provide timely technical support via phone/slack, email, or ticketing system.
● Troubleshoot network issues, including connectivity problems, configuration errors, and performance issues, performing initial assessment and diagnosis of network incidents, escalating complex issues to Level 2 support when necessary.
● Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SASE components, including firewalls, VPNs, and SD-WAN.
● Document support procedures, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions for knowledge sharing and future reference.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and resolution of client issues, staying updated on industry trends and best practices in networking technologies and security.
