Dialysis Staff Nurse

Nuvo Healthcare are currently seeking applications from dedicated Dialysis Staff Nurses to join our client's team in Galway. The successful candidates will work as part of the dialysis team and will work to ensure that policies and procedures are known and followed and that duties are carried out in accordance with the NMBI code of practice.

Requirements:

• Registered nurse with active NMBI registration.
• Have completed training for additional clinical skills including venepuncture, cannulation and IV drug administration.
• Previous renal experience is desirable.
• Provide evidence-based care and work to continuously improve the service.
• Have strong organisational skills and utilise time management, initiative, leadership and problem solving skills for the coordination and provision of effective patient care.
• Ability to build good rapport with patients, families, colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Organise and participate in the delivery of high standards of evidence based nursing care.
• Carry out required planned, direct patient care to a high standard without direct supervision in accordance with established nursing policies and procedures.
• Recognise and report to the MDT any significant changes to a patients condition.
• Contribute to health promotion for all patients by providing education, support and advice.
• Complete relevant referrals as required.
• Escort patients to transport where required.
• Ensure that patients are treated with courtesy at all times and that their needs are respected.
• Ensure confidentiality at all times.
• Ensure provision of a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients, visitors, relatives and colleagues.
• Ensure special equipment is available and ready for use and liaise with senior ward nurses regarding the availability of nursing supplies.
• Report to nurse in charge or line manager any issues including complaints, incidents or accidents including self, staff, patients, visitors or relatives, and complete all relevant documentation.
