The Role and the Team

 

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Revenue Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will report to the Manager of Revenue Accounting and be responsible for the day-to-day revenue accounting as part of a broader team. The ideal candidate will be one who is a proactive learner, takes initiative, and is a great team player. Candidate will be a talented and passionate individual who is interested in joining and helping us take Proofpoint to the next level.

Job Requirements

 

The What:

• Demonstrate proficiency with revenue accounting rules under ASC 606 by performing monthly deal review on multiple-element software arrangements to ensure accurate revenue recognition treatment
• Contribute to process and system improvements in the revenue cycle, including ERP system enhancement and projects
• Prepare journal entries and related account reconciliations while providing analysis for fluctuations for assigned accounts
• Assist in preparation of audit requests as needed
• Perform processes and procedures to comply with SOX 404 control framework 
• Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned

The How:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, ideally ACA, ACCA qualified or to similar level
• Previous experience in revenue accounting, SaaS revenue recognition and understanding of multiple-element software arrangements is a plus
• Ability to form excellent relationships and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Manage multiple priorities well and handle assigned tasks with attention to detail
• Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem solving and follow through
• Operate as a team and/or independently while demonstrating flexibility to changing requirements, time constraints, and deadlines
• Take a clean sheet approach when revisiting operational processes
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze and organize large amounts of data
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 and RevPro is a plus
