Events and Press Officer

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare.
As a partner section, MSF Italy is engaged in saving lives and alleviating suffering through fundraising; communication and advocacy, recruitment and deployment of field workers; as well as running operations in Italy and supporting international operations through expertise and other kinds of direct support.

The Public Engagement Unit has the task of developing and implementing a strategy for public awareness and engagement of the public on the Italian territory through awareness campaigns, educational projects, events national events, strategic partnerships and relationships with high-profile 'MSF Friends.'

The Events and Press Officer is responsible for the design and implementation of events on issues strategic to the organization while also coordinating related promotion and Press office activities. S/he is also responsible for identifying festivals and exhibitions of interest to the organization with the aim of proposing and agreeing on MSF's participation.

• Design, implement and promote national events, ensuring consistency in their organization to the principles of MSF Italy and ensuring the achievement of the objectives of audience engagement set;
• Ensure the production and storage of information and outreach materials (material promotion, set-ups, etc.) within the budget assigned to it;
• Ensure the involvement of aid workers and speakers in outreach events, coordinating with the Talent Acquisition and Development unit and others involved;
• Collaborate in the design and implementation of 'special' projects and awareness-raising campaigns (and the declination of international ones on the Italian territory) and participate interdepartmental working tables on strategic events and initiatives for the organization;
• Work in close collaboration with the local groups area in order to ensure an integrated promotion of events on the Italian territory through support for Press office activities.

• Academic studies consistent with the objectives of the position
• 3 years experience in similar roles
• Proficiency in Office package
• Full working proficiency in Italian and English (at least B2 level). Knowledge of French is an asset.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Ability to take initiative and propose innovative solutions
• Good team player and collaborative attitude

Conditions
Contract : Fixed-term contract of 7 months (maternity replacement).
Level II of Italian CCNL of Commerce. Full time 100%
Gross Annual Salary : 31.506€ - max 38.121€ (depending on experience of the selected candidate)
Starting date : 01 September 2024
Location : Hybrid. MSF Italy Rome or Milan office, and from home.
