General Manager - Milling (Palm Oil)

Our client, a prominent player in the palm oil industry, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager - Milling to oversee their milling operations.

Position Overview:

• Title: General Manager - Milling (Palm Oil) 
• Location: Selangor, with preference for regions with significant palm oil production 
• Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

1. Milling Operations Management: Lead and oversee all aspects of palm oil milling operations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective production processes.
2. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize milling operations, improve productivity, and achieve business objectives.
3. Budgeting and Cost Control: Manage budgeting processes and cost control measures to optimize resource allocation and enhance profitability.
4. Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements in milling operations to maintain product quality and compliance.
5. Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership and guidance to the milling team, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
6. Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and collaboration.
7. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks related to milling activities, implementing effective risk management strategies and protocols.
8. Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for process optimization, efficiency enhancement, and technology integration to continually improve milling operations.
9. Environmental and Sustainability Initiatives: Champion environmental sustainability initiatives within milling operations, promoting responsible practices and compliance with environmental regulations.
10. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports and analysis on milling performance, key metrics, and operational insights for management review and decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Agriculture, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in palm oil milling operations, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
• Strong understanding of palm oil milling processes, technologies, and industry best practices.
• Proven track record of successful leadership and management in a similar capacity, with demonstrated results in optimizing operations and driving business growth.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability.

Additional Requirements:

• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Familiarity with palm oil industry regulations and certifications (e.g., RSPO, ISCC) is advantageous.
• Fluency in English additional language skills relevant to palm oil-producing regions are a plus.
