Job Description - Customer Invoicing Intern

TIP is one of Europe and Canada’s leading equipment service providers. We specialize in trailer and truck leasing, rental, maintenance, and repair, as well as other value-added services, and provide these to transportation and logistics customers across all our markets. In addition to maintaining our own fleet, we also provide maintenance and repair, together with other value-added services, for approximately 55,000 equivalent units belonging to our customers.

Our services include everything from specifying and sourcing equipment, to financing, daily operations, telematics-based digital and connected services, maintenance, and repair, in addition to the buying and selling of used assets. Our customers therefore only need to work with one service partner, which simplifies their fleet management and enables them to focus on their core business activities.

TIP started a digital transformation program to streamline TIP finance operations across the entire business. As the Customer Invoicing Intern, you will be included in supporting of driving the new processes and the new ERP implementation program reporting to the GPO Accounts Receivable.

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate strong communication and technical skills.

The Customer Invoicing process sits across the different regional finance organizations in Europe. Experience of working in this type of environment would be an advantage as would previously experience of working within a global ERP roll-out environment. The business is currently working through an exciting stage of transformation, which will give good business experience for the candidate.

The role will be based in Amsterdam.

The key accountabilities are:

  • Responsible for TIP Customer Invoicing Process and drive standard ways of working across the various business units and drive efficiencies.
  • Review existing and preparation of new process documentation of the current billing and other processes.
  • Liaising with the business to support the Customer Invoicing process. Understanding key business challenges and creating and driving acceptance of process improvement.
  • Be a member in projects to integrate acquired businesses in the TIP Customer Invoicing way of working.
  • Meet regularly with key business stakeholders to identify any enhancement requests and document the requirements for these.
  • Owner of approval of account reciliations to secure levels of process compliance for Customer Invoicing
  • Advocate and act as an ambassador for the needed solutions with the business in the Customer Invoicing process.

Requirements:

  • Student status (preferably: Accounting or Finance studies)
  • Availability 30-40 hours per week
  • Knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, macro’s etc.)
  • Some knowledge of Customer Invoicing processes and of Invoice to Cash roles will be an advantage
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good team player
  • Experience with ERP tools like MS Dynamics will be an advantage
