The role

This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity and efficient operation of our systems including managing and maintaining network servers, desktop operating systems and applications.

You will be required to:

  • Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, user accounts and access
  • Maintain internal hardware requirements, including laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones and security updates
  • Support internet, LANs, WANs, and network segments
  • Monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly
  • Monitor system health, and respond to issues as they arise
  • Help build, test, and maintain new servers when needed
  • Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems to ensure that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures work properly
  • Take responsibility for projects and solutions within the larger business initiative
  • Support implementation of faster and smarter business processes, and develop analytics for meaningful insights
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to communicate project status, activities, and achievements
  • Assist the Customer Services and Developments Teams with troubleshooting to identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed

About you

You will have the ability to take a holistic view of organisational processes, and continually survey the current state to determine future network needs and make recommendations for enhancements in the implementation of future servers and networks.

You will take a lead role in troubleshooting and providing service support in diagnosing, resolving and repairing server-related hardware and software malfunctions, resourcing for workstations and collaboratively developing new solutions to data management and organisational processes.

We’re looking for candidates with the following:

  • 3-5 years of network administration, or system administration experience
  • Experience with Linux, MongoDB, Proxmox, Unraid, Docker, PFSense
  • Experience with networking, automation, cloud computing and operating systems
  • Familiarity with resourcing, installation and upgrades of hardware and IT equipment including mobile device management.
  • Experience with enterprise backup and recovery procedures, systems performance-monitoring tools
  • Expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
  • Understanding of change control concepts and practice
  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities
  • The ability to maximise performance and efficiency.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building capabilities
  • High level of written, verbal and presentation communication skills 
  • Contributes to a positive team culture
