Packing Team Leader - with Great Benefits

Our world-class manufacturing site produces Dietary Supplements for New Zealand and multiple overseas markets. Having recently completed a large expansion of our South Auckland site, we are looking to the future to build on our successes and expand our horizons.

We are looking for a Team Leader who will help take the lead in health & safety & quality alongside driving production output & efficiency and contribute to developing a high-performing team within the sorting & packing area.

If you have a solid understanding & experience within a manufacturing environment, good computer literacy, a strong quality focus, health & safety knowledge, and a natural ability to manage a team we would love to hear from you! 

The team leader role is a full-time permanent role working Monday - Friday 2:20pm - 10:50pm and based in Mangere, Auckland. 

Key role-specific tasks: 

• Complete production and batch documentation for start-up, in-process, and closure requirements
• Maintain area efficiency and ensure shift productivity targets are met
• Liaise with Supervisor, planners, and other Team Leaders when production changes arise
• Liaise with Engineering to ensure maintenance issues are being proactively addressed
• Provide ongoing training for team members
• Participate in routine packing activities as required
• Maintain a high level of GMP and product quality standards
• Promote teamwork between the shifts to maintain continuity in all areas
• Comply with all health and safety, quality, and operator guidelines

What we are after: 

• Qualification in Science or Food Technology is beneficial but not required
• 2 years' experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand is a must
• Good written and spoken communication skills
• A good level of physical fitness as there are often long periods of standing
• Strong adherence to workplace Health and Safety practices
• The ability to work in a team environment
• Excellent attention to detail
• An understanding of the importance of working to strict deadlines.
