Team Leader - Dry Production - Urgent Position

Having recently completed a large expansion of our South Auckland site, we are looking to the future to build on our successes and expand our horizons.

We are on the hunt for a Team Leader who will help take the lead in health & safety & quality alongside driving production output & efficiency and contribute to developing a high-performing team within the dry production team.

If you have a solid understanding & experience within a manufacturing environment, good computer literacy, a strong quality focus, health & safety knowledge, and a natural ability to manage a team we would love to hear from you! 

The team leader role is a full-time role working Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 11:30pm and based in Mangere, Auckland. This role will have 2 - 6 reports reporting to it.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The role involves all the activities and people management related to the manufacturing of dry products. The role has a focus on people management, health & safety, producing quality products, and meeting monthly targets for the output of Dry Production team at NZHM. Responsibilities listed below but not limited to,

• Coordinate the accurate, timely production and batch documentation completion for start-up, in-process, and closure requirements.
• Performing production and in-process testing according to batch documents and standard operating procedures.
• Support in ensuring the production area is set up efficiently to meet shift productivity targets.
• Ensure compliance with NZHM Quality management systems as documented in the Quality Manual.
• Liaise with supervisors, planners, and other Team Leaders when production changes arise.
• Support the people management, training, and development within the production team. 
• Maintain strong communication with the production team both in team meetings and updates throughout the day around production plans, quality, health & safety, and business updates. 
• Ensure cleanliness and sterility of the equipment and production environment according to the cleaning schedule. 
• Promote teamwork between the shifts to maintain continuity in all areas.
• Participate in routine production activities as required.
• Complete a shift report for the Supervisor, including updating Supervisor on any health & safety or quality risks. 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• An individual who has experience in managing team members, 1-year minimum.
• An individual who knows how to lead and motivate a team, strong leadership skills.
• 2+ years experience in manufacturing will be desirable
• A first aid certificate would be preferred
• Good understanding of GMP standards
• Mechanically minded as you will be working with machinery
• Physical fitness as long period of standing may be required
