You'll play a crucial role in educating landowners about their responsibilities outlined in the Regional Pest Management Plan. This role offers a blend of teamwork and individual responsibility, providing you with an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in safeguarding our environment.More about the role:Organising and conducting property inspections to ensure complianceManaging your own pest projectsBudget oversightOperational planning and executionContractor managementTo enjoy this role, you'll be passionate about the environment and enjoy spending most of your time in the outdoors. You'll have a high level of fitness and hill-walking experience as your work will take you across the region and into the high country and some of Canterbury's most remote places where you'll undertake inspections and control of invasive species.The following attributes are needed to enjoy this role:High level of physical fitness and hill-walking experienceComputer literacy, specifically Microsoft and OutlookGood communication skills (written and oral)Work independently, yet also be a team-playerGood work ethic and a can-do attitude toward problem-solvingThe following are desirable, however, not required:Knowledge of pests and pest management practices in NZExperience in compliance or regulatory workGROWSAFE Certified Handler (agrichemical) certificate and/or Controlled Substance LicenseExperience in using 2-wheel motorcycles and 4WD vehiclesOur values underpin everything we do.
