As a part of the hardware engineering team, you will be taking a lead in mechanical design, be the point of contact and interface to the wider product development team and work with the customers to solve challenging problems in multiple domains.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field3D CAD experience – Pro-engineer, Solidworks or UG NX3+ years of hands-on experience designing capital equipmentKey Qualifications:Fire in the belly – can do attitudeProficient in simulation and analysis methods (FEA, thermal analysis and tolerance analysis)Strong in one of the following fields: Thermal or Compressible flow or Design or Machining & manufacturing processesSolves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of informationExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAble to craft clear engineering documentationAbility to form effective cross-functional relationships and to communicate product design/mechanical requirements clearly to non-expertsAbility to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneouslyDescription:You will own the end-to-end design, development and validation of hardware required to enable chemical vapor deposition (CVD) processes.You will work with a passionate cross-functional team to generate design concepts, and as the mechanical engineering lead you will be responsible for engineering analysis and documentation for your piece of the project:Identifying design tradeoffs and risks to choose best path to solutionIdentifying and performing experiments, data analysis and applying scientific methods to reduce design risk earlyRunning analysis (tolerance, thermal, flow etc.) to prove designs will meet intended objectivesIn the prototyping and validation phases, you will support internal and external teams in identifying, troubleshooting and resolving issues found at the component and system level and will be multidisciplinary in nature.
