August 2024 Start - The school is a bilingual IB World School situated in Muscat, Oman serving the local Omani community, as well as the bilingual expatriate community. The school was established in 1993 under the ownership of the Royal Office and Royal Oman Police Pension Funds, on land donated by the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, to provide high quality international education whilst embracing traditional values based on the foundations of Omans cultural heritage. The school is authorised to offer all three International Baccalaureate (IB) programs and the quality of its provision has been recognized with accreditation from the Council for International Schools (CIS). We are currently seeking a qualified and empathetic Primary Special Education Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our esteemed institution in Oman. This role provides a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of primary students with diverse learning needs, fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment. Key Responsibilities: Individualized Instruction: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of primary students with diverse learning challenges. Utilize differentiated instructional strategies to address various learning styles and abilities within the classroom. Collaborative Approach: Collaborate closely with support staff, parents, and other educators to create a cohesive support system for primary students with special educational needs. Attend and actively contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and other collaborative initiatives. Adapted Curriculum Development: Modify and adapt curriculum materials to ensure accessibility and engagement for primary students with special educational needs. Implement evidence-based teaching methods to facilitate the academic, social, and emotional development of each student. Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Conduct ongoing assessments to identify learning strengths and challenges, adjusting instructional approaches accordingly. Provide regular progress reports to parents and collaborate on strategies to support students' continued development. Behavioral Support: Implement positive behavior support strategies to create a conducive and respectful learning environment. Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to address behavioral challenges and reinforce positive conduct. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in special education. Collaborate with colleagues to share insights and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field. Teaching certification in Special Education. Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience, preferably in a primary school setting. Proficient in using a variety of assessment tools and adaptive teaching technologies. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
