Packer Job Description

The expected duties to be performed by a Packer include:
• Pulling and packing products based on daily orders • Cleaning and preparing containers for packing • Meeting specifics of customer orders • Keeping products separated and organized • Monitoring product quality • Marking and labelling containers using marking tools • Measuring, weighing, and counting products and materials • Reporting problems for mitigating safety issues • Recording product, packaging, and other information on databases • Monitoring flow of product into processing machinery • Sealing containers or materials • Following packaging procedures and standards • Handling inventory with care and attention • Maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary work area • Reporting potential production downtime and scrap production

The desirable qualifications for the position of a Packer are:
• High School Diploma • Prior experience of working in a manufacturing environment • Detailed knowledge of packing and shipping procedures • Demonstrated ability to operate machinery • Excellent organizational skills • Good knowledge of basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication)
