QAQC Chief Chemist

I. Job Summary

The QAQC Analytical Division Chief Chemist is responsible for leading and guiding personnel within the Analytical Division to ensure optimal performance and cohesion. He establishes performance goals aligned with company values, develops and enforces comprehensive QAQC policies, and meticulously oversees quality control measures. This role involves monitoring equipment calibration, ensuring compliance with analytical standards, and conducting method verification/validation exercises. Additionally, the QAQC Chief Chemist interprets analytical data, makes reports, and reviews subordinate reports for accuracy and compliance. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, management of inquiries/complaints, and assurance of environmental health and safety standards are also key aspects of the role. He enforces company rules and policies, executes additional duties as assigned, and adheres to established management systems policies and procedures.

The chief chemist's job is for regularization and will be in a hybrid work (office and laboratory-based) that will be located at the Ipilan Nickel Corporation Mine Site at Bgy. Maasin, Brooke’s Point, Palawan. He/She will need to manage different personnel and may be exposed to radiation from the XRF machines, while on duty.

II. Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provides comprehensive leadership and guidance to Analytical Division personnel.

2. Establishes performance goals aligned with company values and work ethics.

3. Develop and enforce QAQC policies tailored for nickel ore analysis.

4. Checks and oversees quality control measures, including equipment calibration and data validation.

5. Enforces compliance with analytical method standards and regulatory requirements.

6. Conduct method verification/validation exercises for laboratory testing procedures.

7. Conducts inspections and audits across all operational facets of the Analytical Division.

8. Guarantees the calibration, validation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

9. Analyzes and interprets analytical data with utmost accuracy and reliability.

10. Prepares, updates, and reviews reports on all analyses performed.

11. Review reports authored by subordinate staff members for accuracy and compliance.

12. Identifies and addresses training needs for laboratory personnel.

13. Leads research and development endeavors within the Analytical Division.

14. Collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication.

15. Engages with external stakeholders to address compliance requirements and industry

developments.

16. Manages inquiries, concerns, and complaints related to the Analytical Division's activities.

17. Assures adherence to environmental health and safety standards.

18. Enforces company rules, regulations, and policies on work ethics, safety, health, and

environmental concerns.

19. Executes additional duties as assigned by the QAQC Manager.

20. Adheres to all company standard requirements and regulations.

III. Qualification Requirements

Minimum Educational Requirements

• Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a valid PRC License

Minimum Experience Requirements

• At least 3 years experience Chemist in the Nickel Ore Industry; 5 years in other industries.
• Willing to relocate to Brooke's Point Palawan
