Legal Counsel - Hotels Division Head Office-based
- A Legal Counsel is a duly licensed law practitioner who oversees that the company's business adheres to relevant laws and rules and regulations.
- The Legal Counsel also provides legal advice and monitors all applicable legal proceedings. The Legal Counsel also reviews, interprets, and translates legal documents and/or requirements and effectively communicates these to the business and external stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides legal support and advice to upper management on relevant matters and various corporate legal issues and concerns.
- Ensures compliance with internal controls, statutory regulations, and other legal requirements.
- Advises on legal risks and legal liabilities associated with different transactions.
- Drafts and reviews documents such as letters, contracts, statements, agreements, and other related documents and coordinates their pertinent provisions with internal customers.
- Executes procedures for protecting patents, trademarks, and industrial designs.
- Handles litigation if needed.
- Keeps up with current changes in all relevant areas of laws and contributes to the enhancement of the knowledge base of the company’s.
- Interprets and applies laws, rules, and regulations to actual situations affecting company interests.
- Coordinates with external counsels in relation to various pending proceedings.
- May do all other related tasks as may be assigned by the superior from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Member of IBP
- With relevant legal experience of at least 3 years
- In-depth knowledge of basic laws and procedures
- Good organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
