- Job Purpose:
To monitor the activities of procurement, execute strategies, coordinate with vendors, negotiate contracts, Analyse costs, manage logistics and find ways to reduce procurement costs.
Procurement Supervision
- Review bids to ensure they meet all legal requirements, including being within budget and complying with government regulations.
- Monitor the progress of projects by communicating with managers about issues that may arise during construction or manufacturing processes.
- Track all expenditures throughout the lifecycle of a project to ensure it stays within budget.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure that they have all materials needed.
- Ensure the quality of products or services by monitoring suppliers’ performance and making recommendations for improvement.
- Review contracts for accuracy and legality, especially regarding insurance coverage in case of damage or loss.
- Review bids from suppliers to determine which company will best meet the company’s needs.
- Inspect goods that have been delivered to ensure they are in good condition and that they match the specifications in the order form.
- Reviewing purchase orders to ensure they are accurate and complete.
People Supervisory & Development
- Supervise & evaluate employees’ performance with continuous feedback on their assigned tasks and provide development opportunities to maximize the potential and engagement of employees.
- Supervise the talent pipeline through effective utilization of employee development programs, mentoring programs, career planning, and succession planning.
- Supervise employees’ changes through continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices taking best practices into account, changes in standards, and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.
Self-Management
- Discuss performance goals at the start of the year with manager and ensure that the goals are monitored and achieved during the year.
- Take ownership of your learning agenda by identifying development needs in consultation with the strategic Sourcing manager and working towards bridging the gaps through various means beyond just training.
- Understand the competencies relevant to the role, and work towards displaying as well as developing these effectively.
- Keep abreast of relevant professional developments, new techniques, and current issues through continued education and professional networks.
- Handle any additional tasks as per business needs.

- Years of Experience
- 7+ years of relevant experience in Procurement Management
- Supply Chain Management Certification
