Job Description

The role is responsible for designing, coding and modifying websites, from layout to function and according to a client's specifications. Strive to create visually appealing sites that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation. A web designer/developer is responsible for the design, layout and coding of a website. They are involved with the technical and graphical aspects of a website - how the site works and how it looks. They can also be involved with the maintenance and update of an existing site.

Key Responsibilities

•Regular exposure to business stakeholders and executive management, as well as the authority and scope to apply your expertise to many interesting technical problems.

•Candidate must have a strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.

•The position requires constant communication with colleagues.

•Experience in planning and delivering software platforms used across multiple products and organizational units.

•Deep expertise and hands on experience with Web Applications ( MAGENTO )and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery , Python and API's.

•Deep functional knowledge or hands on design experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, etc ..) is needed to be successful in this position.

•Strong grasp of security principles and how they apply to E-Commerce applications.

•Establish the purpose of the website based upon its target audience

•Identify the type of content the site will host

•Determine any functionality that the site must support, for example, whether it will handle financial transactions or enquiries

•Give guidance on layout, colors and styles

•Write the programming code, either from scratch or by adapting existing website software and graphics packages to meet business requirements

•Test the website and identify any technical problems

•Upload the site onto a server and register it with different search engines.

•Incorporate technical considerations into web site design plans, such as budgets, equipment, performance requirements, or legal issues including accessibility and privacy.

•Develop web site maps, application models, image templates, or page templates that meet project goals, user needs, or industry standards.

•Identify or maintain links to and from other web sites and check links to ensure proper functioning.

• Provide clear, detailed descriptions of web site specifications such as product features, activities, software, communication protocols, programming languages, and operating systems software and hardware.

•Monitor security system performance logs to identify problems and notify security specialists when problems occur.

•Research, document, rate, or select alternatives for web architecture or technologies.

Requirements

•Degrees in IT, computer science, programming, software engineering and other subjects. More specific degree subjects include web development, web design, multimedia design and web content management.

•2 + years experience in web development & planning design

•Have skills in software programming and graphics

•Have creativity and imagination

•Be adaptable and able to pick up new techniques

•Have good interpersonal and communication skills

•Be able to work on their own or in a team

•Be able to work to tight deadlines

•Be thorough and precise in their work

•Be able to multi-task

•Be aware of international web standards and protocols

•Be able to use their initiative.
