The Humble Beginning

Cheng Hong Welfare Service Society has come a long way since its humble beginnings.

Cheng Hong Welfare started as the welfare arm of Cheng Hong Slang Tng (Charitable Organisation) in 2004 and till today, Cheng Hong Slang Tng has been generously support us operationally and financially.

Cheng Hong Welfare Society has abided by the highest standard of Governance and Transparency and has been granted Institution of Public Character (i.e. tax-exempt) status by the Commissioner of Charities. We are also a full member of National Council of Social Service (NCSS).

The Journey

For the past 12 years, our Management Committee members, dedicated staff and most importantly, our generous donors, supporters and big hearted volunteers have worked hard to help build this organization.

Cheng Hong Welfare Service Society has slowly grown stronger and gathering more resources to make a bigger impact on the community we are serving.

Out TCM Medical Services provide Pro Bono TCM treatment and free medications to the disadvantaged and elderly. It started with a humble clinic in Cheng Hong Siang Tng. With the support of generous donors working together with government agencies and partners, it has expanded to include a Medical Centre and six TCM Clinics island-wide.

In additions, it also offered other charitable services like provide food ration, education grants, visits to homes, bring elderly for tours etc.

The New Service

In October 2012, with the generous support of friends and donors, Cheng Hong Welfare Service Society has established a fund and setup an afterlife memorial service. This service provides free columbarium service to those who requires service, regardless of race and religion.

We have been working hard to raise awareness through television and radio with the help of MediaCorp as well as on the ground to elderly homes and care centres with the help of Emperor Entertainment Production Co’s artiste. We are developing this service with pre-registration of funeral arrangement. What the Charity has done in the last twelve years, is serve the communities in need and to make Singapore better place where nobody is left behind.
