• The Bank was established on 15th August 1907 in Chennai, India and it commenced operations in Singapore on 23rd July 1941, beng one of the oldest foreign full banks in Singapore. It is a public listed entity with 80% ownership by the Government of India.
• Housed in its own premises at No:3, Raffles Place, Bharat Building, Singapore 048617 it operates as a full licenced bank with ACU operations.
• Has a Remittance Centre in Little India area since 31st October 2004.
• Enjoys the patronage of Indian and other communities.
• Has built up goodwill over the years with customers banking with us for several generations.
• Participates actively in funding of Corporates and individuals with emphasis on Trade Financing, Syndications and to a smaller extent Consumer financing.
• Our niche areas of operations are Trade Financing and Retail Banking, and Remittances in particular.
