Since our humble beginning as a grocery shop in Australia in the 1970s, it has always been our mission to bring authentic Asian foods to new frontiers.

As subsidiary of China Merchants Hoi Tung (The only comprehensive business platform under China Merchants Group) since 1990, Oriental Merchant has expanded its operation to encompass wholesale, distribution and the marketing of authentic Asian groceries.

Today, with over 30 years of development, Oriental Merchant has established companies in Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan and Singapore, we employ approximately 500 people across our operations globally.
