Design Manager - Naval Architecture & Hull Design /

Asst Principal Engineer (Hull Design)

Reporting to: Senior Manager, Design

Functional Reporting to: GM/Senior GM, Design

Summary

Independently handling design project and develop naval architecture & hull design.

Provide assistance in enhancing the skills and knowledge of team members to support their professional development.

Description

Liaise with Owner/ Class/ External Designer for the specific design requirement and provide technical solution.

Lead team to general conceptual and basic design.

Design and deliver tailored training programs, provide one-on-one coaching, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry practices.

Perform naval architecture calculations such as speed performance prediction, stability/hydrostatic, scantling assessment, weight distribution, launching calculation and etc.

Responsible for delivering the respective project design drawing and document

Experience / Skills

Minimum 15 years of relevant work experience in the marine/offshore industry Hull & Hull / Naval Architecture design.

Degree or Diploma in relevant disciplines

Good knowledge and skill on coaching and structural/naval architecture design.

Familiar with GHS/NAPA/FEMAP/Autocad/MS office

Good communication, analytical skills
