JOB SUMMARY:The Geotechnical Engineer is responsible for carrying out geotechnical analysis, design and reporting to support infrastructure and building projects. The role involves geotechnical modelling, design of earth retaining and slope systems, interpretation of ground investigation data and coordination with project teams to ensure safe, compliant and buildable solutions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:• Develop analytical 2D and 3D geotechnical models using Plaxis 2D and Plaxis 3D software.
• Carry out detailed geotechnical engineering design and calculations for earth retaining structures, excavation support systems and slope stability works.
• Prepare geotechnical design calculation reports, technical documentation and drawings.
• Review soil investigation reports and prepare interpretative geotechnical reports.
• Advise on the selection and implementation of ground monitoring instruments.
• Review, analyse and interpret ground monitoring results and provide recommendations.
• Coordinate with structural engineers, architects and other consultants on geotechnical design matters.
• Attend design coordination meetings and site meetings as required.
• Support resolution of geotechnical design and construction issues during project execution.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Familiarity with Plaxis 2D and Plaxis 3D geotechnical analysis software.
• Preferably a minimum of 3 years of relevant geotechnical design experience in a consultancy environment.
• Good understanding of Eurocode geotechnical design procedures.
• Familiarity with local building regulations and authority requirements related to geotechnical works.
• Good communication, interpersonal and coordination skills.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project team.
